Autumn air......

I can definitely feel autumn in the air.....it's getting darker quicker, it's cooling down at night, the leaves on the big tree up my driveway are falling off and the tui has stopped visiting the garden.  It's sad to say goodbye to summer.  It seems I wait and wait for summer to come {and a bikini ready body} and it goes much quicker than the long, grey cold winter.{and the body I ordered never arrives}
Once again my summer checklist did not get complete.  I did not get the fences painted but we did paint the house.  I potted my pots with petunias but forgot to water them regularly so they are now dried flower arrangements {actually that goes for my basil and chives too.} I was sunsmart this summer so only got a slight tan.  I went swimming a lot and to the beach.  I did not start running {no surprises there, lol}.  We walked the dogs often but not as often as we had planned and had plenty of BBQ dinners.  It was a scorching summer - I think the hottest we've had in years but I do feel sorry for the farmers who are going through drought condition and hope another day or two of rain heads their way soon {please}

As autumn settles in, I'm reminded of the good things about it......the trees look beautiful as the leaves change colour, I start organising my winter recipes for soups and stews, I look for new fluffy flannelette pj's, maybe even a onesie this year {how daring} and new slippers {ooh good lookin} and the duvet comes back out on the couch as the nights cool down. The start of rugby and netball, in real life and on tv!  And Easter, it's always in autumn - lots of easter eggs and chocolate, and the school holidays - movies, hot choccie dates, sleep ins and fuzzy sock wearing :)

Multi coloured trees make autumn a beautiful season.
The firewood sheds are almost stocked ready for me to burn in the woodburner that heats our home {I don't do cold} and at times, warms our soup....big hugs and kisses to Honey for all his hard work in getting the wood for us year after year. xoxo

Yay Honey.....this will keep us toasty warm.
And now that summer has come to an end and the distraction of the pool disappears, I'll be able to put more time and energy into getting my little business Sugar Prints up and running.....you can check out some of the work I've done on the Sugar Prints facebook page.  I'm excited to have a little somethin somethin going.

So I'm going to be a busy girl with family, work, home, Sugar Prints, Honey's Signs and Tints and a list of things to make and do and places to go over autumn and winter.....I best get started!!!

Embrace Autumn.....buy some fluffy socks ;)
......and Happy Easter
