The End.......

When I first planned, designed and started this blog it was a complete thrill and something I had wanted to do for ages.  I really enjoyed sharing bits of my life with you and letting you inside my brain and it filled a small gap in my life BUT it's not doing that anymore.  Honestly, writing my blog now is a chore, even thinking about writing it is a chore.  I'm behind in showing my photos a day, Macy's cupcake challenge, my house, my bucket list and goodness knows you haven't had a Friday Fuzzy in a while!!!  And to have to catch up on all of that makes me feel like I'm back at school and late with my assignments hahaha.  Plus, everytime I sit at the computer all I can think about is the other things I'd rather be doing, sooooo.......there are a couple of options but the one that gives me the most peace is to stop writing it.  And that's what I'm going to do!

I have plenty to keep me busy.....my family, work, church, Vintage Cush and Sugar Prints, Instagram, Facebook and Candy Crush {amongst other things} so a very big thank you to all of my readers.  I've appreciated knowing that I have given some of you some laughs and something to read on your lunch break or just when you couldn't be bothered doing your real job!!!  Thank you to those who took the time to send me messages about my entries and thanks to those who let me include them in my blog.  The blog world will be sad to lose me.....yeah right, no one even knew I existed hahahaha

So I guess this is so long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight {I think that's the Sound of Music!}....
Thanks for reading
And be kind to one another {I think that's Ellen!}
Goodbye and thanks :)

Looking for a hobby......

I've been bored for ages.  Everyone around me has a hobby.  Honey goes to the gym,  Macy has netball, piano, kapa haka and other girlie stuff.  Other friends plays bowls, make digital artwork, run, ride horses and I......well, I watch TV!!!  So I decided it was time for me to find a hobby.  I didn't want to knit, crotchet or cross stitch - been there, done that, have needles, hooks, wool and stuff to show for it too.  I didn't want to join the gym - no surprises there.  I'm not really that into gardening so I crossed that off my mental check list.  My mum loves genealogy so I'll leave the family history to her.  I can't do magic tricks, twirl a baton or do taxidermy.  Finding a hobby is harder than you think!!!!  Then booyah!!!!  It came to me.  The sewing machine that Honey bought for me could have some potential.....I set it up on the table and well, what do you know??  I have a hobby!!!!

I've been super busy the last month or so sewing.  I never realized it could be so much fun.  And that is how Vintage Cush was born.  I'm sewing cushions!!!!  Out of vintage woollen blankets.  {that's the vintage part } You've already seen some of them on my previous posts but I've made a couple more since then and I'm making little iPad tote bags, too.  And have a few other little things up my sleeve!

I'm loving it.  I get to make things, think of new designs, choose colours, make patterns and then sew them.  The first few that I made are on the corner couch in our family room.  We all love how snuggly and homey they are.  And then....I just kept making them!!  My sister loves her D cushion, my Scottish friend loves her scotty dog, my brother loves his Lego man and Macy.....she loves her Russian Doll, One Direction {one for Katie Pie too} and her latest addition, the moustache.

My first cushions for our family room.
A scotty dog for Scottish Leah.
I made a Lego man for my big brother.
Drewe's second Vintage Cush.....anchors away!
Macy's Russian Doll cushion.
A moustache for a moustache obsessed Macy.
Part of my Lovebirds collection.  I love these birds.
Then I decided, if I could make cushions maybe I could make little bags to carry your iPad in.  So I did and I love them!  So I'll be making more of those too.

Lovebirds iPad tote.
Love this tartan.
Since I've been sewing so much, I figured I should buy an over locker!  And it arrived by courier today, yay.  It's not a top of the range one but it's a learner.  I've never really used one before so figured I'd be better to wreck a cheap than an expensive one.  And if I like it and I find it useful, I'll get a flash one!!!  {sorry Honey, get your wallet out, lol}

It has arrived!!!!!  My over locker :)
So exciting.....
Ain't she purdy??? {use a hill billy accent for  saying that}
But I will need a degree to learn how to use it.  Lol, but true.

So, now I officially have a hobby!!!  My dining table is covered in machines, blankets, felt, cotton, pins and I couldn't be happier.  I'm planning on having a little stall at the Christmas New Rags market and seeing if I can sell a few. {actually I just found out I can have a stall}  If not, guess what everyone is getting for Christmas presents???  Hahahaha.  I'll also have a few other things on sale at my stall but at the moment..they are a secret!!!  But I'll keep you posted as I go along.

Just enough time to squeeze in a........

Friday Fuzzy…..

Good on you Dr. Suess......he was totally right!  Finding a hobby and giving it a try has brought me real joy.  I'll stick at this one and I'm sure....I can still fit a little TV watching in there too.  After all, tonight the Bachelorette is on!!!  And I love that show :)

Happy weekend

Friday rolls by again......

Here I am.... another Friday behind me.  I've got just enough time today to give you a warm fuzzy and to update you on the cupcake challenge.  Macy has been busy keeping up her end of the challenge, it's just me not bloggin it!!

Friday Fuzzy.........

Things don't always go as I plan.....actually, they rarely do but I've had to accept that and learn to roll with the punches.  That hasn't always been easy and honestly, sometimes it's nearly sent me mad {true story} but it's a day to day thing......letting go of control and knowing that for sure, if plan A doesn't work.....there's got to be a plan that does and
always - stay cool!!!

The Cupcake Challenge

52 weeks. 52 cupcakes.

Week 3......

These cupcakes were delicious.  Carrot cupcakes with cream cheese icing!!! And Macy chose to display them on my pretty sparrow plate, on the piano.  Mace had a great time using the piping bag to ice these yummy cupcakes.

Week 4.......

Yummo....chocolate chip cookie cupcake with chocolate frosting and butterfly sprinkles.  So tasty and not too sweet so you could easily eat two at once, hahahaha.  They look great on my white cake stand.  Not only am I loving having a batch of cupcakes made every week, I'm also loving that all of my plates and platters are coming out of the cupboard for a photo shoot.  Now, at least I can tell Honey that they all get used when I bring home another one!!!!!

That's it for today, a quick fuzzy and cupcake catch up!!  I will not promise to be back by any particular day because.....Plan A might not happen hahahahaha

Have a great weekend, wrap up warm.

Slack.....

Slack, slack, call me slack.....I promised to write an entry last week but between a sick daughter and a sick me, I just didn't have the time, energy or wellness to get it done.  Woe is me.  But I'm on the way to feeling better so thought I'd delight you all with a Friday Fuzzy and last weeks Cupcake Challenge cupcake but sadly no ramble, maybe next week.

Friday Fuzzy....

Write it on your heart that every day is
the best day of the year.

Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Positive, positive, positive!  That's what I've learned lately.  Treat every day as if it's your best, try your hardest, be your happiest {even if you're not that happy, fake it!} be your friendliest, be your kindest.  It's worth a shot :)  And as my Honey says to me 'be open minded' lol...actually he usually says that when I disagree with him hahahah.

The Cupcake Challenge

52 weeks. 52 cupcakes.

Week Two.
Macy has been a bit sick the past two weeks but she managed to rustle up a batch of
super yummy chocolate cupcakes and because they were quite rich, she decided to just
dust the top with icing sugar.

She's currently flicking through recipe books deciding what flavour to make for next week.  Who knew there were so many cupcake recipes, flavours and ideas out there???  Crazy!

And, I just have to share my latest cushions with you.....made for Macy and her bestie, Kate.  Little One Direction {you know, 1D the boy band!!} pillows for their beds.  I've got quite a list of designs for my cushions so keep your eyes out for more cushion photos popping up in future posts.

That's another week done.  Enjoy your weekend.  Get better soon if you are sick!
I'm excited because my Daddy is coming up for a visit this weekend, yay <3

Talk soon

I must make a confession....I cheated once or twice this month.  I did use a couple of photos that I had taken previously in the month and used them for the daily prompt! So technically I still took the photos...just maybe on a different day.  It was a hectic month {that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!}  Phew!  I feel good getting that off my chest!!!!

Here's a photo of my gorgeous little sister, Drewe, with the cushion I made for her.  I'm having so much fun making cushions....I have another 5 or 6 designs on the go so I should have more to show you soon :)  The cheeky person Jenesyde who called Drewe 'Drufus' {up in the comment by the photo} is our big brother Todd!!! And that's a typical comment from him, lol.

I'll see you again on Friday when I'm back with Macy's cupcake for the week, a Friday Fuzzy and a bit of a ramble.
Bet you can't wait!!!
