I was cleaning up my work station at home {fancy name for desk and shelves, lol} yesterday and when I was tidying a bits and piecey basket, I found a couple of old photos of Ezra and Macy. Ez would have been about 11, so that would have made Macy about 3. Gosh, time has flown. They were so little and so cute! They are still cute {always be my babies} but they aren't so little anymore. I had a quick look at the photos and put them on the "to put away pile" and carried on cleaning up. I was quite ruthless and through away lots of bits of paper, old bills and stuff I hadn't used in a while. I even tested all the pens and threw away the ones that didn't work! So at the end of the clean up, I had a pile of stuff to burn {that's how we recycle} a pile to give to people {Macy's hair ties mainly} and a pile of stuff to move to where they actually belonged. The photos were in that pile!
And the photos belonged in the "photo box"

| Full of treasured memories....and maybe a few I'd like to forget lol. |
Ah, the photo box. Many homes are blessed with a photo box. You know, the box that is filled with photos that have been picked out of old photo albums {the books full of photos for all those who remember life before digital cameras} photos that were given to you, a set of double prints and of course school photos. I can remember my grandma having a photo basket, full of old black and white photos that sat on a shelf in her hall cupboard. As a kid, I loved to look at the old shots and try and work out who they were and read the beautiful old handwriting on the backs of them. I'd spread them all out on her lounge room floor and spend hours lost in the olden days! My mum was a bit more organised and had lovely photo albums. I spent ages looking at all of our family photos and I was grateful when Mum gave me my baby album, something I'll always treasure........but back to my box. My photo box is white and sits on my shelves in the lounge. So, when I put the photos back in the box, I couldn't resist a little wander down memory lane......and as I like to share my memories with you, I thought I'd share photos with you of days gone by.
2003. Macy climbed up on the couch with her cuddly dollies and her dibby {dummy} and went to sleep. She had had a busy morning out in the garden with me.
2003. Ezra playing playstation and Macy copying! Her cord wasn't even plugged in...cuuute!
2002. Macy climbed up on a banana box to watch Honey outside. She knocked on the window and was yelling out to him so I hooked up the curtain so she could have a better view. She stood there for ages.
2001. Ezra and Macy had a great time hiding in the wardrobe in our hotel, while on holiday in Taupo. Macy would crack up when I opened the door.
2001. Big brother Ezra {8yr} giving his baby sister kisses and cuddles. He is such a good brother.
1999. Holiday at Lake Taupo. Ezra spent the 5 days with an exercise book, pen and a floaty ring in the water. No electronics or TV! Was a fabulous holiday.
1997. Great and Ezra. Cuddles xxxx
1995. Ezra exhausted after his 2nd birthday party. He made himself a little bed on his car chair and nodded off.
1978. Nana teaching me how to ride a two wheeler. Todd {my big bro} is having a sulk because he wants a turn!
1983. My Poppa. Taken a few days before he passed away. Love you Poppa.
2002. My favourite photo of Macy when she was little. She is peering over the gate that we have put up in Ezra's door way so she couldn't get into his Lego while he was playing with it. She used to stand at the gate and gabble to him. Sooo adorable.
2003. Macy fell over and skinned her knee so Ezra made a bed with all of the couch cushions. She's lying there watching Shrek.
1998. Ezra at daycare. He wore that silver jacket from the dress up rack every single day. He called it his Michael Jackson jacket!!
1998. Ezra's first day at school. Naawww
2003. Macy on the arm of the couch watching Hi-5. She loved getting up there to watch her shows.
1979. Christmas Day at Bluff, Queensland. From top left, my brother Todd, my cousins Paul and Luke and me. I was 6, the year I got my Baby Alive, the Baby Alive activity centre and bubble bath. I still have that doll :)
2001. Summer and hot. No pool so a bucket will have to do!!!
Love his facials, hee hee hee.
1977ish. Grandma, Todd and I at the Royal Brisbane Show. And looking good!
1994. Our first family Christmas tree.
2004-2005. Family holiday around the North Island over Christmas and New Year's. Ezra and Macy at the Honey Hive.
2004. Lunch at the Prawn Farm in Taupo. I can almost hear Macy laughing.
Every photo has a memory attached and as I was looking through them all, I realised I could bore you with almost every single photo in that box, lol, and then there's the photo albums and a couple of hard drives!! It's so important to keep a track of our lives through photos, journals and story telling. It keeps the history of our families alive. So the next time I go to my mum's, I'm going to pull out her old albums and take a trip back in time, look at some old snapshots and listen to some stories!!! Enjoy every moment.
Love to you all
