trudy_n....my dotty life : Holidays.......

Sadly, (sob sob) the school holidays end tomorrow and it's back to work. I love my job but I also love school holidays and it's actually only 6 and a half weeks until the next ones for me so I really shouldn't be complaining....but I am!! Being back to work for me means early starts - I have to wake up at 5.50am (I know!!) So I'm feeling glum. As much as I try, Monday morning is going to come and I will have to get up early.

You can probably guess that I love my bed and have had a few (ok, maybe more than a few) sleep ins over the past two weeks. What else did I do during the holidays, I hear you ask...

Flew to Christchurch to see my ma, pa and lil sis.
Slept in :)
The normal things like church, the supermarket and house work
Read 4 books from the town library
Watched Mace kick her dad's butt at boxing on the Xbox Kinect
Cooked dinner for 4 nights in a row!!! Applause please.
Went to the movies and had lunch out.
Had Mace's bestie over for two nights of fun and giggles

They stayed in their pjs all day :)

but most exciting...the Wellington Zoo with my dear friend, some of her children (one who happens to be Macy's bestie -bonus!) and of course, Macy. What a great day! The kids had a ball and I took a million photos of them...plenty of them acting like they should have been in the cages! Lol

If you haven't been to the Wellington Zoo lately, you should really check it out. It's had a facelift in many areas and is looking lovely. We were able to see the chimps and giraffes (in their new home) being fed and watched an otter have his teeth cleaned, polished and fixed. The monkeys and meerkats are always fun to watch.

After our zoo ramble, we headed off for lunch at McDonald's in the Basin then to Te Papa for a quick nosey, a turn on a virtual ride and some pounamu polishing.
